Core Beliefs
At The City of Hope, our faith is rooted in the unchanging truth of God’s Word. These are the foundational beliefs that guide everything we do:
1. The Bible is God’s Word
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final standard for all matters of faith, life, and doctrine.
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17
2. There is One True God
We believe in one eternal God, Creator of heaven and earth, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
– Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19
3. Jesus Christ is Lord
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and now reigns in glory. He is the only way to salvation.
– John 14:6; Romans 10:9
4. Salvation is by Grace through Faith
We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ—not by our works, but by His grace.
– Ephesians 2:8-9
5. The Holy Spirit Empowers Believers
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, providing guidance, conviction, comfort, and power to live a victorious Christian life.
– Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23
6. The Church is Christ’s Body
We believe the Church is the body of Christ on earth, called to worship, serve, disciple, and share the gospel. We are stronger together.
– 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
7. We Are Called to Love and Serve Others
We believe every believer is called to love God, love people, and serve others with humility, compassion, and excellence.
– Matthew 22:37-40; Galatians 5:13
8. Jesus is Coming Again
We believe in the soon return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom and judge the living and the dead. Until then, we live with hope and urgency.
– 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:12
9. We Believe in the Power of Prayer
We believe prayer is essential for spiritual growth, divine breakthrough, and daily guidance. Prayer is not our last resort—it’s our first response.
– Philippians 4:6-7; James 5:16
10. Hope is Our Anchor
We believe that no matter how dark the situation, there is always hope in Jesus. At The City of Hope, we live by this truth: Hope is alive. And His name is Jesus.
– Hebrews 6:19; Romans 15:13
